On the 1st of January 1973 Franco Campanini establish in Novara (Italy) the company CAMPANINI TEXTILE MACHINES.
Thanks to his twenty years of experience as technical manager of Officina Meccanica Bertona of Novara (Italy), company specialized in manufacturing of ball-winding machines, reeling machines and textile machines accessories and parts, Franco Campanini designs and manufactures an innovative ball-winding machine, called “Type 73”.
The “Type 73” is manufactured with 10 and 16 winding positions: simple, economic, flexible and, at the same time, very reliable. This machine is designed to produce balls in wool, cotton, and crochet threads. The “Type 73” ball-winding machines has some innovative devices for that time like simultaneous opening of the mandrels with adjustment of the diameter, simultaneous cutting of the yarn (manual through a lever) with automatic clamping of the tail for starting the next cycle.
This model has such a huge success that the company sells a lot exemplaires.
Afterwards, in 1979, based on the mechanical structure of the ball-winding machine “Type 73”, a new innovative ball-winding machine is born: the new “Type 80” has variable flyer speed, automatic cutting of the yarn and automatic opening of the mandrels. These new devices are necessary because increase the production of the machine.
From 1979 to 1986 Campanini Textile Machines manufactures over 290 machines.
In 1986, the son Ivano joins the family business.
In constant research of new technologies, Franco and Ivano design and manufacture the new “SCT.240 Type A” ball-winding machine: the peculiarity of this machine is timing belt flyer drive, electro-pneumatic beam movement and automatic mechanical gearbox, studied to obtain do-nut flat balls more voluminous and softer. The “SCT.240 Type A, manufactured with 10, 12 16 and 20 winding positions, shortly becomes the basic mechanical structure of the last generation of ball-winding machines.
In 1989, on the mechanical structure of the “SCT.240 Type A”, a new prototype of ball-winding machine is designed and built: the new “SCT.240 Type C” changes the way to make ball-winding machines.
The new “Type C” is equipped with an up to date electronic system that allows to memorize all the balls data in programs in order to produce any type of balls with one single machine. All the memorized programs can be loading at will.
The “Type C” machine is equipped with a very modern automatic electronic gearbox, where it is possible to produce balls even more voluminous and softer or more compact according to the characteristics of the yarn.
The “Type C” machines also turn out to be very sturdy and electronically reliable and remains in production up to 2007.
At the end of the 80’s, with these innovations, Campanini Textile Machines increase the export and at the same time the production grows up.
In 1993 Franco Campanini leaves the property and the entire management to his son Ivano.
In 2002, in cooperation with a textile company based in Biella, Campanini Textile Machines design and manufacture “VAPORADA”, a new conception of high speed continuous yarn bulking and steaming machine for hand knitting yarns with completely independent heads.
Consequently a new cake winding machines called FKT4/E with electronic feeder, yarn break and slip detecting sensors and winding speed up to 500 mt/min are shortly designed and built (2004).
In 2003 a new prototype of ball-winding machine, derived from the “SCT.240 Type C”, is built by using a very modern electronic technology. The new NEXUS is born and is commercialized starting from the year 2004.
In 2006, based in the mechanical body and electronic system of the Nexus machine, the new VEGA electro-pneumatic ball-winding machine is born: Vega is less flexible but cheaper than Nexus and aimed at customers and markets with lower technical requirements.
In 2012 the new TRIAX EVO cake winder is designed and built: this model is equipped with innovative devices like pneumatic control of the softness of the cakes and electronic control of the pattern of the cake.
Furthermore the machine is equipped with electronic feeder and yarn break and slip detecting sensors, winding speed up to 620 mt/min and the winding device with stainless steel tubes with holes of over 10 mm for very coarse yarns (up to 0.2 Nm).
TRIAX EVO cake winder is built with completely independent heads one by one or two by two.
In 2013 a continuous yarn bulking and steaming machine for very coarse hand knitting yarns (up to 0.2 Nm) with completely independent heads, called VAPORETTI is designed and built.
In 2014 the yarn bulking machine VAPORADA is upgraded by installing a new design of steaming chamber, longer and with a special system inside that, by controlling the interaction between steam and heat, it allows excellent results even with yarns, such as alpaca and cotton, which tend to absorb a lot of moisture.
In March 2015, in memory of the founder Franco Campanini, the FC34-NX is designed and built: this is a very flexible and easy-to-use high technology automatic ball-winding machine suitable for high productions.
In June 2015 CAMPANINI MACCHINE TESSILI acquires all the original drawings and the know-how of all the machinery and spare parts of G + W of North America:
• Automatic ball-winding machines
• Automatic banding machines
• Semi-automatic and automatic packaging machines for balls
• Steaming and bulking machines
• Automatic pull skein machines.
The owner Ivano Campanini believes in continuous innovation, invests in projects and patents, makes use of the latest technology and uses high quality materials.
